Genie Agents can now integrate with Unity Catalog Volumes containing PDFs, Word docs, text files, and Markdown. Users can ask questions that span both structured tables AND unstructured files. Genie executes SQL and reads documents to synthesize one unified answer.
Authors can attach up to 10 Volumes per Genie Agent and add descriptions to guide retrieval.
What's next: File-level citations, optional indexing for faster retrieval, removal of the 500-file limit, and direct path to GA.
