Exploring the New Genie Agent Structure

Curious to hear what you all think of the most recent UI changes. Personally I like the fact that now you can put Queries, Filters, Measures, Fields and Joins in the Examples section. How do you feel about these changes? What potential benefits or challenges do you anticipate?

Share your thoughts and any innovative ideas you have for implementing and integrating this new format into your workflows. We're eager to learn from your experiences and insights!

Hi Simon,

I also realized these changes but must state that I do not like those changes for two reasons:

  1. For me 'joins' belong to the data sources which you can configure and have a different characteristics compared to e.g. measures or fields

  2. The term 'examples' may somhow fit to SQL examples, measures and fields ´; but in general I would appreciate different name like 'Semantics' or anything else

So overall I'm not happy with these changes as also it's difficult to explain this to the users.
If I would have influence to Databricks Product Management team I would recommend to re-design the grouping and names so that data and semantics are clearly separated and named accordingly.
