Description:

Join us Tuesday, May 19th at Improving offices near 192nd and Dodge. Presentations start at 6 PM CST. The Omaha Databricks User Group covers a variety of topics to help develop your data and AI skills:

Session 1: Jet Linx Customer Story — Powering Analytics Across a Small Team with Databricks Presented by Aaron Jepsen

Hear directly from Jet Linx on how they use Databricks to power their analytics across a lean team. Aaron will walk through how Jet Linx gets enterprise-grade data capabilities without an enterprise-sized data team — a relatable story for anyone doing more with less.

20 minutes — customer story + Q&A

Session 2: Databricks Genie Code — Your Autonomous AI Partner for Data Work

Genie Code is Databricks' newest AI agent built specifically for data teams. Unlike general-purpose coding assistants, Genie Code understands your data — not just your code. It leverages Unity Catalog to surface the right datasets, enforce governance policies, and execute complex workflows end to end.

What it can do:

  • Build and maintain Lakeflow data pipelines from natural language descriptions

  • Train, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models — logging experiments to MLflow automatically

  • Create AI/BI dashboards from a simple description

  • Monitor production pipelines and AI models in the background, triaging failures before you notice them

  • Connect to external tools like Jira, GitHub, and Confluence via MCP for fully autonomous workflows

In benchmarks against leading coding agents on real-world data science tasks, Genie Code solved 77.1% of tasks compared to 32.1% for a leading coding agent equipped with Databricks MCP servers. databricks

We'll demo how it works live in Databricks Free Edition — so you can try it yourself at no cost.

20 minutes — overview + live demo + Q&A
